Zoho Books is not set up for Egypt out of the box. Two things decide whether it works here: a chart of accounts and VAT setup that match how you report, and invoices that reach the Tax Authority without anyone re-typing them.
What implementation actually involves
Skipping any of this is what turns a three-week rollout into a nine-month one.
- A chart of accounts built around how you report, rather than the default template
- Tax configuration for Egyptian VAT, including the treatments that apply to your specific activity
- Opening balances migrated and reconciled, with a parallel run before you rely on it
- Invoice and document templates in Arabic and English, right-to-left where needed
- Bank feeds, recurring transactions and approval rules configured to your actual process
- ETA e-invoicing connected so submission happens inside invoicing, not after it
The part no edition includes
None of the six Zoho Books editions submits to the Egyptian Tax Authority. Choose the edition for what your business needs, and connect submission through TaxBridge, our own platform.
Which edition you actually need
Professional is the first tier with sales and purchase orders, multi-currency and inventory, and suits most trading companies. Elite adds warehouses and batch or serial tracking, for stock held in more than one place. If you cannot name what the higher tier gives you, you do not need it yet.
The price follows the tier, not the headcount, until you pass the users it includes. Zoho’s Egyptian prices, read on its own page on 29 September 2026 — per organisation per month, billed annually, VAT on top. Paying monthly instead costs exactly a fifth more on every tier.
- Free — E£0. One user plus an accountant user, 1,000 invoices a year.
- Standard — E£202.5. Three users, 5,000 invoices a year.
- Professional — E£427.5. Five users, 10,000 invoices a year.
- Premium — E£652.5. Ten users, 25,000 invoices a year.
- Elite — E£2,625. Ten users, 100,000 invoices a year.
- Ultimate — E£5,250. Fifteen users, 100,000 invoices a year.
- Each user past the included count is E£45 a month. Twelve people on Professional is E£427.5 plus seven extra users: E£742.5 a month, E£8,910 a year.
Arabic that your finance team will actually use
When Arabic covers only part of the interface, the accounting team keeps a parallel Excel file, and within a year the system holds a fraction of the real picture.
We configure Arabic layouts, right-to-left print formats and bilingual documents, and train in Arabic.
When Zoho Books is the wrong answer
Zoho Books is accounting software with inventory attached. If your real problem is manufacturing — multi-level BOMs, work orders, subcontracting, actual production costing — you will outgrow it, and ERPNext is the better starting point.
Frequently asked questions
Does Zoho Books support Egyptian e-invoicing?
Not on its own. Submission to the Egyptian Tax Authority runs through an integration such as TaxBridge, which handles issuance, signing, submission and per-invoice status from inside Zoho Books.
Can you migrate our existing accounting data?
Yes. Opening balances, customers, suppliers, items and open transactions are migrated and reconciled, with a parallel run first. The state of your existing data decides how long this takes.
